Some evidence that is the same as the Egyptian practice of keeping the corpse with the essentials may also be found in China. A significant example of this custom is China’s “Terracotta Army.” Learn about the “Chinese Terracotta Army” of China and some of the interesting facts that surround it.

Who Made the Terracotta Army?

On The Order of the King himself, The Terracotta Warriors were built to guard the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first ruler of China. Archaeologists believe that 8,000 terracotta warriors were carved in three pits within a mile of Shi Huang’s tomb. So far 2000 terracotta warriors have been discovered who have weapons like arrowheads, spears, and swords.

It is said that when Qin Shi Huang became the ruler of China, he was only 12 years old. After becoming the ruler, to protect his empire, he created an army that defeated any army called the Chinese Terracotta Army. This army of Huang was named Terracotta Warriors. Huang himself built the wall of China to protect his empire.

What Is the Terracotta Army?

Qin Shi Huang succeeded in conquering and uniting China in 221 BC and ruled China for thousands of years thereafter. They were not an army of living humans, but they were soldiers made of clay. Along with warriors made of clay, Qin Shi Huang also made earthen horses, servants, and other things.

All of them were buried with the dead body of the ruler. It is the greatest collection of life-size sculptures in the world, with an estimated 6,000–8,000 statues in total. They are not only life-size but also incredibly realistic. Each figurine was hand-finished with distinctive face characteristics after being created using molds.

At the same time, he kept the soldiers’ faces towards the east for this reason, from where there was a fear of enemies coming.

  • Each Soldier Is Unique.

It would be astonishing to learn that each of the idol’s troops that have been discovered so far is unique. This demonstrates how quickly and precisely this task was completed. The idols’ locations and lengths were also taken into consideration at the same time. Some of these idols stand 5 feet, 6 feet, 7 feet, and 11 feet tall.

  • Horse Statues Draw Attention.

The horse statues that have been removed from here are quite popular. These horses were also used to create saddles. The invention of the saddle during the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang is demonstrated by this.

  • For Over 2,000 Years, Soldiers Were Kept Concealed.

These clay warriors allegedly went undiscovered for 2200 years. They also learned that some farmers in Xi’an were drilling wells at the same time. The government then designated this region as an archaeological site.

  • Under the 249-foot high mound is where the burial is located.

The first Chinese emperor’s tomb is hidden behind a 249-foot-high pyramid-shaped mound. The mausoleum is situated inside a cemetery in Xi’an’s Lintong neighborhood. A terracotta army has also been stationed here to guard the tomb. On the east side of this tomb, thousands of terracotta warriors were discovered. These idols were all vividly painted. However, before the technique for effective preservation was developed, the majority of these warriors’ paintings were blown off by exposure to the dry air of Xi’an.

Conclusion:

Chinese Terracotta Army is a wonder in itself. When it is founded it is 2000 years old, and for more than 2000 years it remains in the ground. Archaeologists found 8000 soldiers, horses, and carts also. The Terracotta soldiers of China were created to defend the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the country’s first emperor. They weren’t an actual human army; rather, they were clay-based warriors. China also shares the same rebirth belief as ancient Egypt, that’s why the king wants to create an army so he can also get all these things in the next life.
